So my brother in laws girlfriend has a blog and I wanted to post a comment, I signed in to post and then clicked on my name when the comment posted and remembered this blog I started over a year ago! As you can see, I didn't keep up with it; and here we are, July of 2012 and I had only 3 entries on my Weight Loss Hell. Like so many other times, I would get on the train and then get off at the next stop....2011 was no different. 2012, however.........
July 16, 2012, 16 months later I can proudly tell you that I have lost 22.4 pounds and I'm feeling GREAT. It took a VERY VERY VERY long time to get here. But once I did it and lost my first 10 lbs, I new there was no turning back.
In the beginning of May, sometime around my birthday, I was talking to my niece and I asked her: "Tia looks really fat, uh?" She smiled and told me she loved me and that I was beautiful but yes, I look very fat. The thing with kids, is they are truthful and sometimes that's what you need. It doesn't matter who it comes from, as long as its the truth. So on that day, I made a deal with my niece and my daughter that I would try my hardest to lose 25 lbs by July 30th. Then after a few days, I decided that I would up that number and try to lose 30 lbs....and soo began my struggle with the weight loss.
I joined Weight Watchers with my sister in law (who has definitely been a huge support to me) we also joined a 6 week boot camp that her sister in law gives and I put my mind to it and just went from there.
The first week, I lost 5.2. *insert huge ass grin*
The second week, I lost 1.8. *insert a little disapointment but happy I still lost*
The third week, 4.2. *insert another huge ass grin*
The fourth week, I lost 3.6. *insert signing and dancing Jilyan*
The fifth week, I skipped. *insert :(*
The sixth week, I lost 3.0 * insert a yahoooooo*
The seventh week, I skipped *insert a food took over and I needed to get back on track, week*
The eighth week, I lost 4.6 *insert a huge ass grin and signing and dancing and lots of smiles*
So here we are on my 9th week and I'm feeling great! My daughter and my niece come back from Portugal on the 30th and I'm trying my hardest to lose the 30lbs, I can't break a deal to my two favorite little girls!
The hardest part about losing weight is the food. I LOVE food, as does everyone else, but for me, I have no control. Once I start, I just keep going. And if I'm bored, FORGET IT ABOUT IT (inside joke a few ppl will get) I'm done, food and me become best friends.....that took a lot of time to get out of my head....food kinda became my enemy. It had to in order for me to get where I am today. With the help of Kim and Maddie, I've learned to make different more healthier for choices. I've learned that all food isn't bad and I've enjoyed some awesome meals that are healthy. I still give myself one day a week to have the replenish meal. Some times I go a little overboard and make it two days but I make the deciesion and then don't dwell on it. (That used to by my issue, I'd get so depressed when I'd eat the junk then I would throw the towel in) It's all mental, and that is the hardest part. Your body doesn't need that candy bar, you are not going to die with out it. Will it taste amazing? Yes of course it will, but that 2 minutes it took you to eat a candy bar, that will go straight the fat that is crying to go away, you could've eaten a more healthier snack; and once you start doing that, the choice between the candy bar or a some fresh strawberries becomes a no brainer. Because truthfully, the candy bar makes you feel sick, when the strawberries make you feel good!
It's not easy, and it's a struggle every day! But with the right people backing you up and the right mind set, anyone can do it!
Till next time.
Jilyan :)
